The Importance of Art

In a few paragraphs, please respond to the following on your Blog:

"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period."

I do not agree to this. I think art, music and theater classes are important and necessary for high school students. It's important to be able to express yourself, and art, music and theater classes gives the students this opportunity. A class where you can be creative should be required at every high school. 

Without art, music and theater classes where will our designers, artists, actors, musicians and architects come from? "Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period." This sentence does not make much sense because the workforce includes soo many jobs based on art, music and theater!
